Location: Construction site in the Taupo surroundings
Pay Rate: $28 to $35 per hour, depending on experience
Position Type: Temporary with potential to become permanent
About the Role:
We are seeking skilled and experienced Telehandler Operators to join our team through Tradestaff, working on behalf of our client in the construction sector. If you have a strong background in operating Telehandlers and a solid understanding of the construction industry, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Telehandlers: Safely and efficiently operate Telehandlers, with a preference for those experienced in the construction range.
  • Support Construction Activities: Assist with various tasks on construction sites, demonstrating your expertise in the building industry.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to strict health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience: Significant experience working in the construction industry in New Zealand, with a focus on Telehandler operation.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be fit, strong, and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Licences and Endorsements:
    • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence (Class 1)
    • NZQA Unit Standard 23637 – Operate a Telehandler (General use)
    • Drug and Alcohol Test: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • References: Two verifiable employment references.
  • Transport: Reliable personal vehicle to get to work each day.
  • Availability: Ready to start early mornings and commit to the job's demands.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Essential but Advantageous):
  • Class 1 or 2 Licence
  • EWP Training: If the Telehandler is used as a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), compliance with AS/NZS 1418 Part 10 2011/AS2550.10 is required, and the operator must have EWP training.
