Fitter / Welder – Auckland Airport Project | Immediate Start | Ongoing Work
Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Fitter/Welder to support our client’s growing demand on site for the Auckland Airport project currently underway.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure an ongoing role on a large-scale infrastructure project with an immediate start available.
You will be part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining critical mechanical systems and supporting fabrication and installation work within the airport environment.

You will be part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining critical mechanical systems and supporting fabrication and installation work within the airport environment.
Scope of the Role
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical machinery and plant equipment
- Fault-finding and repairs on mechanically and electrically driven systems, including baggage handling systems
- Carrying out fitting, turning, fabrication, welding, and machining tasks
- MIG welding on structural and fabrication projects
- TIG welding on precision components
- Fluxcore welding (advantageous)
- Fabricating and assembling metal components
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Fitting and aligning components to specification
- Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
- NZQA Level 4 Trade Certificate in Welding/Fabrication (or equivalent overseas qualification) with current welding tickets
- Strong MIG and TIG welding experience
- Fluxcore welding experience is advantageous
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable and able to work well within a team
- Strong health and safety focus
- Current Site Safe passport
- Ability to pass airport security checks
- Able to complete site induction (SIT) for the Auckland Airport project
- Immediate start
