Fitter / Welder – Auckland Airport Project | Immediate Start | Ongoing Work

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Fitter/Welder to support our client’s growing demand on site for the Auckland Airport project currently underway.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure an ongoing role on a large-scale infrastructure project with an immediate start available.
You will be part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining critical mechanical systems and supporting fabrication and installation work within the airport environment.

Scope of the Role

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical machinery and plant equipment
• Fault-finding and repairs on mechanically and electrically driven systems, including baggage handling systems
• Carrying out fitting, turning, fabrication, welding, and machining tasks

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding on structural and fabrication projects
• TIG welding on precision components
• Fluxcore welding (advantageous)
• Fabricating and assembling metal components
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Fitting and aligning components to specification
• Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards

Skills & Experience

• NZQA Level 4 Trade Certificate in Welding/Fabrication (or equivalent overseas qualification) with current welding tickets
• Strong MIG and TIG welding experience
• Fluxcore welding experience is advantageous
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Reliable and able to work well within a team
• Strong health and safety focus

Requirements

• Current Site Safe passport
• Ability to pass airport security checks
• Able to complete site induction (SIT) for the Auckland Airport project
