Maintenance Engineer – Permanent Role (Meat Processing Plant)

What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and production issues
- Working with chains, hooks, and general mechanical systems common in meat processing environments
- Performing welding tasks where required (MIG, ARC, TIG – not all essential)
- Supporting preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- Ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently in a food production environment
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Fitter or similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in food processing or meat works highly desirable
- Welding experience advantageous
- Electrical ticket a bonus but not essential
- Full Class 1 driver licence
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to respond effectively to breakdowns
- On-call allowance: $100 per week when carrying the on-call phone
- Call-out payment: $200 per call-out
- Weekend call-out payment: $300
- Consistent hours with very little overtime, offering excellent work-life balance
