Brake Cable Repairer – Hands-On Role
Location: Frankton, Hamilton
Hours: Monday to Friday
We’re on the lookout for a reliable, physically fit individual with a mature and practical approach to join a busy cable manufacturing and repair team. This role suits someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and enjoys a hands-on environment.
You’ll be working in a specialised workshop that sources, repairs, and manufactures mechanical brake cables, hoses, and components for a wide range of vehicles—including cars, motorbikes, trucks, agricultural machinery, and industrial equipment. It’s a varied, practical role that involves custom fabrication, problem-solving, and mechanical know-how.

It’s a varied, practical role that involves custom fabrication, problem-solving, and mechanical know-how.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing mechanical brake cables to specification – cutting, crimping, stripping, and assembling
- Reading and interpreting basic measurements, drawings, and instructions
- Using tools and machinery safely and responsibly
- Communicating effectively with team leaders and clients
- Maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring accurate workmanship
- A mature, dependable attitude and ability to work independently or within a small team
- Physically fit – comfortable with standing, light-to-medium lifting, and manual work
- Clear and professional communicator – able to follow instructions and liaise with clients when required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical, or manufacturing environment
- Full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Valid right to work in New Zealand
