Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established operation in Wairoa, working on a fleet of heavy earthmoving and construction (yellow) machinery.
This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work with a prestigious client on an ongoing basis.
Location: Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $36–$42 per hour (paid weekly)
You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of heavy plant including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. This role will see you working both in the workshop and attending field breakdowns as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining earthmoving and construction machinery
- Servicing excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy plant equipment
- Performing preventive maintenance including oil changes and lubrication
- Hydraulic system repairs and fault finding
- Engine diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
- Attending emergency field breakdowns
- Welding and heavy lifting as required
- Relevant diesel/heavy automotive trade qualification (Plant & Equipment or equivalent)
- Proven experience working on yellow machinery
- Strong hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
- Welding experience
- Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- WTR endorsement (bonus)
- Class 2/4 licence (bonus)
- $36–$42 per hour, paid weekly
