Health & Safety Administrator – Demolition & Civil
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Administrator to support our client’s demolition and civil operations across the Hawke’s Bay region.
This permanent, part-time role (approx. 20–24 hours per week) includes preparing site-specific safety plans (SSSPs), running toolbox meetings, conducting site audits, ordering supplies, maintaining H&S documentation, supporting external accreditation's, and providing back-up payroll support when required. You’ll work closely with their management team, operators, and demolition crews on a range of residential and commercial projects.
What you’ll bring:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role
• Preferably experienced in civil, demolition, or construction environments
• Current full Class 1 driver licence
• Strong understanding of construction hazards and proactive risk management
• Ability to run toolbox meetings and complete compliance audits
• Experience investigating incidents and near misses, including reporting
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, lead, and motivate teams while ensuring H&S standards are met
• Adaptability to work effectively with different people and changing site needs
• Reliability and enthusiasm for varied, hands-on work
• Basic payroll knowledge or willingness to learn
