Drainage Operator/Labourer – Civil Site Work in Canterbury Region

We’re looking for a skilled Drainage Operator/Labourer to join an experienced civil crew working on essential infrastructure upgrades in the Canterbury region. This hands-on role requires confidence operating machinery, solid drainage knowledge, and a strong commitment to health and safety. Location: Canterbury Region (Travel Included)
Start: Immediate start available
Pay Rate: $32–$36 per hour (depending on experience and licences)

What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating a range of machinery (e.g. excavators, rollers, loaders) safely and efficiently
- Performing manual drainage tasks such as trenching, laying pipe, backfilling, and compaction
- Assisting with general site preparation, clean-up, and reinstatement
- Maintaining environmental protections and adhering to safety controls
- Reading basic site plans and following instructions from site supervisors
- Working around live services and active plant in a high-risk environment
- Previous drainage experience (non-negotiable)
- WTR endorsements and current Class 1, 2 & 4 licences
- A good understanding of site safety and risk management
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in a labour-intensive role
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work in a team
- Reliability and readiness to work in all weather conditions
- Immediate start on a stable, well-organised site
- Potential for ongoing work based on performance
- Work with an experienced crew on a major infrastructure project
