Civil Construction Driver/Operator

Civil Operator / Civil Labourer Wanted – Taupō Operators & Skilled Labourers Encouraged to Apply | Ongoing Work | Great Team

Are you keen to work in civil construction and want a role where you can get on the tools, learn new skills, and be part of a solid crew? We’re looking for a Civil Operator based in Taupō — but we’re also open to experienced civil labourers who want to step up or gain more machine exposure.
If you’re reliable, safety focused, and not afraid of hard work, this could be a great opportunity.

The Role This is a hands-on civil role with a mix of machine operating and general civil labouring. Depending on your experience, you could be doing:
Civil Operating (where experienced)

• Operating machinery such as:
  
  • Digger / Excavator
  • Roller
  • Loader
  • Skid steer / Bobcat
• Assisting with trenching, drainage, and site prep
• Spreading, shaping, and levelling materials
• Working around services and following site plans

Civil Labouring (core part of the role)

• Shovelling, raking, and compacting
• Laying pipe and assisting with drainage installs
• Spotting machines and working around operators safely
• Concrete prep, boxing, and general groundwork
• Installing kerb, channel, and footpaths (depending on project)
• General site clean-up and maintaining safe work areas

This role is ideal for someone who’s happy to jump between operating and labouring as required — and for strong labourers who want to get into civil long-term.
What We’re Looking For

• Civil site experience OR strong labouring experience
• A good attitude and willingness to learn
• Confidence using tools and working outdoors in all conditions
• Strong health & safety awareness
• Reliable and consistent work ethic

Requirements

• Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 and WTR an advantage)
• Reliable transport to get to site
• Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
• WTR endorsements are a big advantage (but not essential)
