Directional Drill Operator

Tradestaff are seeking a Directional Drill Operator for an immediate start!

Requirements:

• Proficiency in operating directional drilling equipment and understanding bore plans.
• Valid Class 2 License with WTR endorsement (Wheels, Tracks, Rollers).
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to underground drilling operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Friendly disposition and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate directional drilling equipment to create pathways and boreholes underground according to project specifications.
• Ensure all drilling operations are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and inspect drilling equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and safe operation.
• Collaborate with project managers and crew members to plan and execute drilling activities effectively.
• Document drilling activities, including borehole locations, depths, and any issues encountered during operations.
• Provide support in site preparation and cleanup activities as needed.

Successful applicants must:

• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Have 2 ready work references
• Have your own vehicle with a restricted or full license

You may also be required to submit a criminal history check with the Ministry of Justice.

Please note that our work is mainly industrial and therefore for Health and Safety reasons you do need a good command of English.
