Location: Christchurch, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $32 - $36 per hour 
About the Role:
We are seeking skilled Auto Electricians to support our manufacturing process. If you have experience in heavy vehicles like buses and trucks, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:

• The Role
  
  • Diagnosing and repairing electric vehicle systems, including battery systems, motors, and controllers
  • Performing high voltage system testing and high voltage vehicle repairs
  • Interpreting and applying information from technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures when handling high voltage systems
  • Checking, testing wiring and parts in the bus using portable instruments
  • Finding faults using manufacturer’s circuit diagrams
  • Dismantling of electrical and electronic assemblies and components for the engineering department and assembly on modified chassis
  • Repair and replacement of electronic systems such as engine management systems, air conditioning systems, ABS brakes, electronically controlled gearboxes, instrument panels and vehicle computers
  About You
  
  • Proven work experience as an Electric Vehicle Technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
  • Experience with various hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and familiarity with electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid certification (e.g ASE) is preferred.
