Solar Electrician
Tradestaff are seeking qualified Solar Electricians to join a large-scale solar farm project in the Manawatū region. This is a great opportunity to work on a major renewable energy development and contribute to building New Zealand’s sustainable energy future while working with a prestigious client.
Location: Dannevirke, Manawatū-Whanganui
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $52 per hour – paid weekly
The Role You’ll be working as part of a skilled electrical team installing and connecting solar infrastructure on a large renewable energy project. The work involves long days on site and requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

Key duties include:
- Installation of solar panel systems
- Cable tray and conduit installation
- DC and AC wiring
- Inverter installation and connections
- Switchboard and distribution work
- Assisting with testing and commissioning
- NZ Registered Electrician (EWRB) with current practising licence
- Experience in solar, commercial, or industrial electrical work preferred
- Strong understanding of site health and safety practices
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing
- Reliable transport to site
- Site Safe (advantageous but not essential)
- Must have own electrical tools
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- $52 per hour with weekly pay
