Job Description:
We are looking for a proactive and safety-conscious Traffic Management Operative to assist with the implementation and maintenance of traffic control systems on construction sites and roadworks in the Wellington area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists by effectively managing traffic flow and adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain traffic management equipment and signage according to prescribed guidelines and regulations
• Direct traffic and communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and construction personnel to ensure a safe flow of traffic
• Monitor and assess potential hazards and risks, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment
• Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement effective traffic management plans
• Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed

Requirements:

• Valid TC (Traffic Controller) or STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) certification
• Previous experience working in traffic management or a related field is required
• Strong understanding of traffic management regulations and best practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected situations with composure
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• A strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
