Pay rates range from $30 - $40 starting rates depending on experience.

The successful candidate will have experience manufacturing and fabricating Sheetmetal products; Welding with Mig and Tig and working with a variety of steel unsupervised and accurately.

We are looking for Sheetmetal fabricators/engineers with background knowledge and experience with the following:
- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements – the ability to follow and work from plans accurately and unsupervised is essential
- Mig and Tig Welding – from 1.2mm through to 3mm
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock and components
- Fabricating custom pieces of stainless steel, aluminum and mild steel
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
Ideally, you will be or have:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the Sheetmetal industry
- Experienced with Mig and Tig Welding on a variety of stainless, aluminum and mild steel
- Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
- Your own welding/fabrication tools
- Own reliable transport
- At least 2 work references
