Residential Carpenter – Central Dunedin

Tradestaff has an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential carpenter to join a high-end construction team in Central Dunedin. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants consistent, meaningful work on well-organised sites.

About the Role
You’ll be part of a team working on a mix of new builds and high-end residential renovations, contributing to the construction of functional, safe, and visually appealing homes. A solid understanding of timber construction techniques, and concrete formwork will be key in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Framing, cladding, and finishing carpentry
• Reading and interpreting construction plans and specs
• Working with both timber and concrete materials
• Following NZ Building Code standards
• Maintaining high health and safety standards in line with WorkSafe NZ
• Collaborating with other trades and site managers to meet project milestones

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is a trade-qualified carpenter (preferred)
• Has a full toolkit (or is close to it)
• Holds a full driver’s licence and has reliable transport
• Can demonstrate experience with timber and/or concrete formwork
• Understands and applies NZ Building Code and WorkSafe practices
• Has strong communication skills and works well with others
• Can provide two recent professional references
