Heavy Diesel Mechanic
We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy workshop in Dunedin working on a fleet of UD and Hyundai trucks.
This role is open to applicants currently based outside Dunedin, however you must already be in New Zealand with relevant NZ work experience.
What you'll be doing
We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy workshop in Dunedin working on a fleet of UD and Hyundai trucks.
This role is open to applicants currently based outside Dunedin, however you must already be in New Zealand with relevant NZ work experience.
What you'll be doing
- Servicing and maintenance of heavy diesel trucks
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Repairs including clutches, gearboxes and differentials
- Engine rebuilds and major component repairs
- Preventative maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
- Conducting test drives and system testing after repairs
- Maintaining service records and communicating repair plans
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic or
- Minimum 5 years heavy diesel experience
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Commitment to health and safety practices
- Class 2, 4 or 5 licence (desirable)
