Fitter/ Maintenance Worker

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Welder/Fitter/Turner to join a busy team in South Auckland. This role is hands-on and varied, combining welding, fitting, turning, and preventative maintenance work to keep plant machinery and equipment running smoothly.

Location: South Auckland 
Pay rate: $32–35 per hour (paid weekly)

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on plant machinery
• Dismantling, inspecting, and reassembling conveyors and rotating equipment
• Precision fitting, turning, and machining of components to tolerance
• Performing welding and fabrication repairs (TIG, MIG, Stick)
• Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting breakdowns, and implementing repairs
• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Following maintenance schedules and completing service reports accurately
• Supporting and mentoring safe work practices in the team

To be successful, you’ll need:

• Proven experience in welding, fitting, and turning
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
• Knowledge of TIG, MIG, and Stick welding techniques
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
