Drill and Blast Labourer
Looking to break into the mining industry? We’re after a motivated individual to join a drill and blast crew at Macraes Mine. This is a hands-on, outdoor role—perfect for someone who’s physically fit, reliable, and keen to learn.
Location: Macraes Mine – live in Dunedin or Oamaru
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $28.00 per hour (paid weekly)
You’ll work 11.5-hour shifts on a 7-days-on, 7-days-off swing (Tuesday to Monday). Transport is provided from Dunedin or Oamaru, with the bus departing at 5:10am and returning at 8:10pm. Shifts run from 6:40am to 6:40pm.

- Assisting with the preparation, charging, and detonation of explosives
- Supporting drill operators and machinery
- Learning on the job and working well in a team
- A clean Ministry of Justice record
- A full NZ driver’s licence (must be able to drive manual)
- To pass a pre-employment drug test
- Loader experience is a bonus, but not required
- Weekly pay
- Potential for ongoing work
