Engineer – Heavy Transport Industry
We are urgently seeking an experienced Engineer to join our client in the Heavy Transport Industry, based in Seaview, Lower Hutt. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working with heavy transport equipment and structures.
About the Role
You will be involved in the design, fabrication, building, repair, and modification of structures and components used within the heavy transport sector. This role requires someone who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

About the Role
You will be involved in the design, fabrication, building, repair, and modification of structures and components used within the heavy transport sector. This role requires someone who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, build, repair, and modify transport-related structures and components
- Carry out heavy and/or light fabrication work
- Operate common engineering equipment such as welders, grinders, and fabrication tools
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
- Be willing to learn and operate new equipment as required
- Proven experience in heavy or light fabrication
- Experience in the transport industry (preferred)
- Relevant engineering qualifications (an advantage)
- Welding tickets and qualifications (preferred)
- Ability to work confidently alone and within a team
- Strong communication skills – reading, writing, and face-to-face
- Good attention to detail and housekeeping standards
- Class 2 licence or above (a bonus)
- Reliable and willing to work Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm
- Full-time, ongoing work
