Mining Laboratory Labourers Required

Laboratory Technician
We’re on the hunt for a reliable, safety-focused worker to join our client’s lab team at Macraes Mine. You’ll play a key role in processing rock samples used in mining operations. This is a physical, hands-on role that involves machine operation and working in a dusty environment with full safety gear provided.
Location: Macraes Mine, inland from Palmerston
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $28 per hour (guaranteed 48 hours per rotation, all breaks paid)

What the job involves:

• Processing rock (dust) samples through various stages
• Operating machines to crush samples
• Bagging and tagging prepared samples
• Moving heavy trolleys loaded with trays between work areas
• Wearing a full head-cover breathing apparatus (dust and noise safety)

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• A full, unrestricted NZ driver’s licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts: 06:30–18:30 or 18:30–06:30
• Ability to work a 7-on / 7-off roster with alternating day and night shifts
• OSH forklift cert is desirable (F endorsement not required)
