Class 5 Driver

Are you an experienced and skilled driver looking for an opportunity in the agricultural industry? Tradestaff is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Livestock Truck Driver in Hawkes Bay!
 
Responsibilities:

• Animal Welfare: Ensuring the well-being of the animals during transportation, including handling, providing adequate ventilation, temperature control and minimising stress during loading & unloading.
• Safe Driving: Operating the livestock truck responsibly, adhering to traffic laws at all times.
• Loading and Unloading: Using proper handling techniques to minimise animal stress and injuries.
• Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections & maintenance of the truck to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Documentation: Keeping accurate records of animals being transported, as well as completing all pre-start checks before driving.
• Communication: effectively communicating all matters to farm staff, veterinarians and other stakeholders to coordinate schedules and emergency matters.

 
Requirements:

• Class 5 license with dangerous goods, wheels, tracks, rollers, and forklift endorsements is essential for this role.
• Experience with Road Ranger transmissions is essential for this role.
• Prior proven experience in transporting livestock is essential for this role.
• Valid Visa (if applicable) or the right to work in New Zealand
• Must be willing to complete and pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and animal welfare.
