Class 2 Roading Labourer – Thames Area

Pay Rate: $27 per hour

We’re on the hunt for a solid labourer with a Class 2 truck licence to join a roading maintenance crew in the Thames area.

The role:
This is a hands-on job where you’ll be part of a team doing all sorts of road and street maintenance across Thames, Hauraki and the Coromandel. You’ll help keep the network safe and tidy for everyone using it.

Day-to-day tasks include:

• General roading maintenance (sealed and unsealed roads)
• Street sweeping, drainage clearing, rubbish collection
• Vegetation control and structures upkeep
• Clearing grates, catchpits and footpaths
• Maintaining signs, guardrails, streetlights, traffic services and cycle paths

Important: This is not just a driving role. You will be expected to labour most of the day – driving the Class 2 truck is only part of the job.

What we need from you:

• Class 2 truck licence
• You must live near Thames – within a 20 to 25-minute drive
• Fit, reliable and not afraid of physical work
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Clean Ministry of Justice check (minor convictions may be considered)
• The right to work in New Zealand
