Truck Driver

We are currently seeking people to join our client’s team as Class 4 Vacuum (Sucker) Truck Drivers & Operators in the Infrastructure & Waste sector. In this role, you will be responsible for operating Class 4 vacuum (sucker) trucks equipped with automatic transmission to perform various pumping and vacuuming tasks, including stormwater clearing, drain cleaning, septic tank maintenance, and general waste disposal.
 
 
Key responsibilities:
 

• Operate Class 4 vacuum trucks efficiently and safely.
• Perform pumping and vacuuming duties for stormwater, drain clearing, cesspits, septic tanks, tank cleaning, and sewage tank maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with clients, site managers, and STMS.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Engage in manual handling tasks associated with operating the equipment.

 
You will need to be fit, strong and active as this role will include manual handling of the boom and hose.  This job will keep you moving all day.  Candidates must be prepared for physically demanding tasks and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.  This includes wet, cold weather. 
 
What we need from you:
 

• Hold a valid FULL CLASS 4 driver's license.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of experience driving a Class 4 truck.
• Previous experience operating a sucker truck/hydro excavation is preferred but not essential.
• Provide a driving reference upon request.
• Demonstrate physical fitness and the ability to handle manual labour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoy being part of a busy team.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Competitive starting rate of $30.00 per hour.
• Standard working hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours when required.
• Temporary position through Tradestaff, with potential for permanent placement with the client for the right candidate.
• Full support from Tradestaff during your placement, including regular visits from your Tradestaff consultant.
