Retort Operators and Supervisors

We have a exciting opportunity with one of our client within the Hawkes Bay region. 

We are on the look out for retort supervisors and operators. However, A RETORT CERTIFICATE IS ESSENTIAL!

• Retort supervisor: $37-$40 per hour
• Retort Operator:$27-30 per hour 

The primary function of the Retort Operator is the processing of products and the overall operation of the retorting system through the use of panels, monitors, computer screens, etc. to ensure the proper cook time, temperature, etc. of these products.

Primary Duties of the Role:

• Ensures that all equipment is properly functioning.
• Reports any malfunction to Supervisor, Mechanic on shift.
• Adjusts gauges, controls, etc, to the proper setting for the particular product to be cooked.
• Programs the transfer of uncooked products into the Retorts. Clears any can jams that may occur.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with Supervision, co-workers about operations.
• Maintains all quality control records for management and /or State of California review.
• Prepares appropriate narrative reports as required.
• Performs quality assurance checks, records can codes and initial temperatures.
• Must adhere to all Safety practices.
• Maintains the work area clean at all times.
• Must be able to lift up to 25kg, on a regular basis.
• Will load and unload retort baskets etc.

The job will entail shift work and can be discussed upon your application.
