Welder/Fabricators Wanted – Structural & Stainless
Are you a skilled Welder/Fabricator with solid experience in structural fabrication and stainless-steel work?
We’re looking for capable hands-on professionals who take pride in precision welding and fabrication, particularly on structural steel and stainless projects, and who can confidently step into demanding, site and workshop environments.
Otago will be the predominant area of work for this role; however, you may also be required to work in the Southland region. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.
About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Welder/Fabricators to join our team and contribute to a variety of structural fabrication projects, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel and heavy fabrication.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone confident working to drawings, producing high-quality structural welds, and fabricating components that must meet strict strength, safety, and finish requirements.
You’ll be working extensively with stainless steel and mild steel, across structural frameworks, supports, platforms, and fabricated assemblies, as well as some non-structural work where required.

You’ll be working extensively with stainless steel and mild steel, across structural frameworks, supports, platforms, and fabricated assemblies, as well as some non-structural work where required.
In this role you will:
- Carry out structural welding and fabrication across commercial and industrial projects
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and structural plans accurately
- Perform high-quality welds using MIG, TIG, and ARC techniques
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel and stainless components
- Shape, cut, bend, and assemble components for heavy and light fabrication
- Join components through welding, bolting, or riveting
- Ensure all work meets engineering specifications, quality standards, and Health & Safety requirements
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ welding and fabrication experience
- Proven experience in structural fabrication
- Strong capability with stainless steel welding (highly valued)
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding
- Experience with heavy fabrication preferred
- Trade qualification preferred, but strong practical experience considered
- Own tools and reliable transport required
- Two work references
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
