Fitter/Turner
We’re looking for an experienced Fitter/Turner to join a busy heavy engineering and maintenance team in Dunedin. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working with large machinery, hydraulic systems, and precision mechanical components in both workshop and site environments.
Location: Dunedin
Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $34–$38 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly

We’re looking for an experienced Fitter/Turner to join a busy heavy engineering and maintenance team in Dunedin. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working with large machinery, hydraulic systems, and precision mechanical components in both workshop and site environments.

Start date: Immediate start
Pay rate: $34–$38 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Operating machinery including lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Assembling, fitting, and fabricating mechanical components and machinery
- Performing maintenance and repair work on heavy engineering and mining equipment
- Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications
- Conducting hydraulic system maintenance and fitting work
- Carrying out quality checks using precision measuring tools
- Maintaining high Health & Safety standards on site and in the workshop
- Working closely with engineers and workshop teams to complete projects efficiently
- Trade qualification as a Fitter/Turner or 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience working with heavy machinery and engineering equipment
- Hydraulic systems experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety focused
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Valid NZ working rights
