Do you have a strong background in mechanical fitting, particularly in manufacturing or heavy industry? We’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team and support the assembly, installation, and ongoing maintenance of complex machinery in a fast-paced food packaging environment in Central South Auckland.

Shift Patterns This position involves rotating shift work to meet production demands. Shift patterns may include:
- 12-hour rotating shifts – 4 days on / 4 days off
- Rotating shifts (2 days / 2 nights) – 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Monday to Saturday - minimum 40 hours per week.
- Assembly & Installation: Assemble machine parts and install new production equipment from technical drawings and specifications
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine maintenance checks, identify faults, and carry out repairs to minimise downtime
- Troubleshooting: Respond quickly to breakdowns and mechanical issues, identifying root causes and applying long-term solutions
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, ensuring machinery is compliant and safe for continued use
- Proven mechanical fitting experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics
- Competency using a wide range of hand and power tools including welding machines, grinders, and drills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive and reliable work ethic, with a focus on safety and teamwork
