Maintenance Fitter/Turner/Welder Wanted – Solid Opportunity with a Leading NZ Timber Manufacturer
Location: Te Puke, Bay of Plenty

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, family-owned New Zealand timber manufacturer with a reputation for quality, innovation and long-term investment in its people. The company operates green and dry mills, timber kilns, a treatment plant and a secondary processing site producing high-quality interior and exterior timber products for both local and export markets.
With around 155 staff across two shifts, their joint maintenance team includes a collaborative crew of engineers, mechanics, electricians and apprentices. This role joins a highly capable, future-focused engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings and execute engineering project plans
- Deliver fabrication, machining, and fitting solutions for upgrades and improvements
- Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance across production equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate records of job orders and timekeeping using Dynastar or similar systems
- Follow health and safety protocols including job safety analysis (JSA) and lock-out procedures
- Liaise with team leaders, supervisors, contractors and other departments as needed
What We’re Looking For
- NZ-recognised trade qualification as a fitter-turner or fitter-welder
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar hands-on mechanical role
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full, valid NZ driver’s licence and at least two contactable referees
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
