We are currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join busy civil projects in Wairoa, Hawke's Bay.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled operators looking for ongoing work on large-scale civil sites, operating well-maintained machinery with a supportive crew and a strong commitment to safety.
We are looking for multiple operators, with preference given to local candidates.
Location: Wairoa, Hawke's Bay
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $32–$36 per hour (paid weekly)
About the Role
You'll be operating heavy machinery (typically 13–40+ tonne excavators) across a variety of civil construction and earthmoving projects.
This hands-on role involves working alongside experienced crews to deliver quality work across drainage, earthworks, and site development projects.

About the Role
You'll be operating heavy machinery (typically 13–40+ tonne excavators) across a variety of civil construction and earthmoving projects.
This hands-on role involves working alongside experienced crews to deliver quality work across drainage, earthworks, and site development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate 13–40+ tonne excavators for earthmoving, drainage, and civil works
- Complete trenching, bulk earthworks, and site preparation
- Load trucks and carry out backfilling
- Perform site levelling and final trim work
- Operate skid steers and loaders as required
- Work safely around live services
- Assist the ground crew when required
- Complete daily machine checks and basic preventative maintenance
- Current WTR endorsement (essential)
- Proven experience operating 13–40+ tonne excavators
- Previous civil construction experience
- Ability to read plans and work to levels
- Class 2 licence (advantageous)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- $32–$36 per hour, paid weekly
