Commercial Electrician
Tradestaff Mt Wellington is looking for a qualified Commercial Electrician to join a 12-month project based in Highbrook.
This role is a bit different from standard install work — you’ll be focused on site auditing, assessing existing systems, and supporting upcoming smart meter upgrades.
You’ll be working across commercial sites, reviewing distribution boards, tracing circuits, and gathering detailed information to support design and upgrade work. If you’re a detail-focused electrician who enjoys problem-solving and working through existing systems, this is a great opportunity to step into something more technical.
Location: Highbrook, Auckland
Start date: Early April
Pay rate: $45.00 - $50.00 p/h

What you’ll be doing:
- Auditing distribution boards (DBs) across commercial sites
- Conducting circuit tracing and identifying cable runs
- Taking photos and documenting site conditions
- Preparing detailed reports to support design and upgrade work
- Reviewing and interpreting single line diagrams (SLDs)
- Working closely with clients and site contacts
- NZ Registered Electrician with current practising licence
- Strong commercial electrical experience
- Ability to read and interpret plans and SLDs
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Confident communicator in customer-facing environments
- Full NZ driver licence
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- 12-month project with consistent work
- Opportunity to move into a more technical, less physical role
