We’re looking for experienced Diesel Mechanics to join busy teams across Otago. You’ll be working with a variety of diesel vehicles and machinery in a hands-on role that offers both variety and challenge. If you’ve got the skills and the right attitude, we want to hear from you.

Otago will be the predominate area of work for this role, however you may also be required to work in the Canterbury region. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant.

About the role:
You’ll be servicing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment across a range of industries. Key tasks may include:
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling engines and components
  • Replacing worn or defective parts
  • Performing scheduled servicing (oil changes, tune-ups, lubrication)
  • Using diagnostic tools and computer systems
  • Testing and adjusting components for peak performance
  • Responding to breakdowns and callouts
  • Inspecting vehicles and advising on roadworthiness

Requirements:
  • 3+ years’ experience working on diesel engines
  • Trade qualification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Own tools and reliable transport
  • Class 1 driver’s licence preferred
  • Strong focus on health and safety
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Two recent work references

Benefits:
  • Pay range: $30–$40/hr, based on experience
  • Minimum 30 hours/week guaranteed
