Class 5 Driver
We’re looking for a reliable and safety-focused Class 5 Driver to join a reputable engineering company based in Glenbrook, South Auckland.
This role is based entirely within a mill environment, moving steel between departments.
If you’re confident operating truck and trailer units and take pride in doing things safely and correctly, this is a solid opportunity.
Location: Glenbrook, South Auckland
Start date: ASAP (early starts from 6:30am)
Pay rate: $32.00–$33.00 per hour (paid weekly)
About the roleYou’ll be operating a Class 5 truck and trailer within mill premises only.
The role involves transporting steel, securing loads correctly, and working closely with yard and crane teams while following strict site safety rules.

Key responsibilities include:
- Operating a Class 5 truck and trailer safely within the mill
- Transporting various types and sizes of steel between departments
- Securing steel loads using chains, ensuring all restraints are correctly clipped
- Loading and unloading steel in coordination with crane operators
- Completing daily pre-start checks and vehicle inspection reports
- Following mill traffic rules, safety procedures, and production schedules
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and yard personnel
- Reporting equipment faults or safety concerns promptly
- Maintaining cleanliness of the truck, trailer, and work area
- Full NZ Class 5 licence
- Experience operating truck and trailer units
- Strong knowledge of load restraint and chain securing
- Comfortable working in a heavy industrial / mill environment
- Safety-focused with high attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to handle early starts
