Class 5 Driver – Civil
Tradestaff Mt Wellington is looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver to join a Takanini-based civil crew working across Auckland and wider project locations.
This is a role for someone who’s comfortable on-site — not just behind the wheel — moving materials, tipping, and jumping in with the team when needed.
You’ll be working on active civil projects like roadworks, drainage, and subdivisions, where the work is steady and the crew relies on each other to keep things moving. If you’ve done civil driving before and know your way around a site, this will feel like a good fit.
Location: Takanini, Auckland (projects across Auckland and surrounding areas)
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $33.00 – $36.00 per hour, paid weekly

Pay rate: $33.00 – $36.00 per hour, paid weekly
What you’ll be doing:
- Driving Class 5 trucks on civil sites (tipper work, short hauls)
- Operating Road Ranger gearboxes confidently on-site and on the road
- Moving materials between site areas and nearby locations
- Tipping and manoeuvring safely around live works
- Assisting with drainage, trenching, and general site tasks
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance
- Working alongside a civil crew to keep jobs on track
- Full Class 5 licence with civil/site driving experience
- Proven experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes (essential)
- Confidence operating trucks on active construction sites
- WTR endorsements (advantageous)
- Willingness to help on the ground when required
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
- $33–$35/hr depending on experience
