Electrical Trade Assistants – Solar Farm Project (Waikato)

Tradestaff is looking for Electrical Trade Assistants to join a large-scale solar farm project in the Waikato. This long-term project will run for several months, with work starting soon. It’s a great chance for anyone with an electrical pre-trade qualification, or some basic electrical experience, to gain valuable hands-on industry experience.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting qualified electricians with solar farm installation and wiring work
• Running cable, connecting components, and supporting electrical fit-out tasks
• General labouring duties on site where required
• Physical outdoor work, including lifting and handling materials

Pay rates: $27–$29/hr depending on skills and experience

Site locations (approx. travel times from key towns):

• 49 mins from Hamilton
• 20 mins from Morrinsville
• 24 mins from Matamata
• 51 mins from Thames
• 53 mins from Huntly
• 44 mins from Cambridge
• 50 mins from Putaruru

What you’ll need:

• Electrical pre-trade course completed, or relevant basic electrical experience
• Photo ID (no exceptions)
• CV and 2 recent work references we can call
• Reliable transport and at least a restricted driver’s licence
• Fit, strong, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, plus ongoing random testing
