Branch Foreman – Forklift Industry (Hamilton)
Salary: $90K–$100K (based on qualifications and experience)
We are recruiting on behalf of our valued client for a Branch Foreman based in Hamilton, offering an immediate start in a permanent full-time position. This opportunity is with a well-established New Zealand owned company in the Forklift Industry where you will be responsible for maintaining a broad range of equipment, including petrol/LPG, diesel and battery electric machines, as well as a substantial forklift rental fleet.
About the Role:
As the Branch Foreman, you will lead the efficient operation of the Hamilton Service Department, overseeing both workshop-based and mobile-based Technicians. You will be responsible for day-to-day planning and supervision of all service and repair activities, ensuring they are completed in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner while supporting the Branch Manager.

About the Role:
As the Branch Foreman, you will lead the efficient operation of the Hamilton Service Department, overseeing both workshop-based and mobile-based Technicians. You will be responsible for day-to-day planning and supervision of all service and repair activities, ensuring they are completed in a professional, timely and cost-effective manner while supporting the Branch Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor staff and vehicle presentation to uphold a professional company image
- Ensure all staff, suppliers, and visitors operate safely and respectfully within the workshop and yard
- Proactively plan and communicate workloads to optimise Technician efficiency
- Maintain regular customer communication to ensure satisfaction
- Oversee pre-delivery work to ensure deadlines and standards are met
- Monitor all internal and external work to meet industry standards
- Supervise pre and post checks of forklifts for accuracy, cleanliness and completeness
- Support Technicians with troubleshooting as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate rental inspections (inbound/outbound)
- Assist with customer quoting and creating purchase orders for outsourced work
- Perform stock takes and manage workshop supplies
- Manage Technicians attendance and productivity
- Strong leadership skills with previous experience in supervising workshop and mobile staff and provide sound judgment and implement best practices
- A minimum of 5 years technical experience with leading forklift brands and materials handling equipment
- Proven experience leading a team in a workshop environment
- A mechanical qualification and prior managerial experience are highly desirable
