We’re on the lookout for a skilled Water Technician to join a hardworking team in Hastings.
This role combines technical water operations with hands-on civil work, including machinery operation and infrastructure projects.

Pay rate: From $30 per hour (depending on experience, paid weekly)
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Operating and monitoring water treatment plants, reservoirs, and distribution systems
- Conducting water quality testing to meet NZ drinking water standards
- Maintaining and repairing pumps, valves, and related equipment
- Keeping treatment facilities and pump stations clean and operational
- Operating civil vehicles and machinery such as excavators, graders, rollers, and dozers
- Performing civil works including trenching, laying water mains, and servicing subdivisions
- Responding to after-hours call-outs
- Supporting small capital projects and providing technical input
- A full Class 1 licence (Class 2 and/or WTR endorsements an advantage)
- Experience with water systems and/or civil infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of NZ water quality standards
- Site Safe or similar safety training
- Physical fitness for manual and outdoor work
- The ability to pass a clean drug test
- Flexibility to work occasional night shifts
- Work with a well-established NZ client
- Great pay rate
