Finishing Team Member
The successful candidate will be an experienced seamstress, responsible for the finishing of printed & unprinted media, driven by the production schedule and to quality standards in a safe & cost effective manner. An understanding of textiles & printing would be an advantage for this role. The Textiles Alive environment supports innovation, creativity and problem solving, so the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a willingness to adapt and roll up their sleeves to assist in other areas as required.
The Job:

• Finishing of product as required by the production schedule and finish specifications.
• Ensure that finishing productivity targets are met
• Ensure that all finishing documentation and quality checks are carried out as required
  1. Measuring, cutting, heat knifing and sewing of printed and unprinted media as required by the production schedule to meet customer order requirements.
  2. Ensure that finishing quality is as required by product specifications and that all documentation is completed for traceability and quality assurance
• Ensure that the work area is maintained in a tidy, clean and safe condition at all times
• Complete basic machine maintenance tasks & cleaning to maintain finish standards

-          To continuously identify and realise every opportunity to improve productivity, product quality and safety in every part of the finishing function.
-          Ensure that the Finishing Supervisor is kept fully informed of all issues that may impact on business performance (costs, product quality, safety and customer service).
-          Continuously develop the skills and knowledge required to perform the role of finisher to the highest level of competence and maximise contribution to the business.

• Assisting Finishing Supervisor in new product development and other projects
• Measure and document all production waste in line with waste management procedures.
• Any other production task as requested

The Person:
-          Experience with industrial sewing/finishing machines an advantage or confident seamstress.
-          a personality that can be both organised and adaptable – a real team player!
-          have strong attention to detail for quality control checks 
-          ability to anticipate obstacles and respond accordingly to prevent wastage and delays
-          problem solver that can think on their feet
-          a multi-tasker who is time aware, and will go the extra mile
-          this is a physical role, so an acceptable level of physical fitness and body strength is required
-          Reliable
-          Great communication

Good to Haves:
-          a knowledge of wide format printing
-          sublimation printing or laser cut experience or knowledge
