Responsibilities:

• Surface preparation: Assessing the condition of walls and ceilings to determine the extent of repairs needed.
• Applying joint compound: Mixing and applying joint compound to seams, joints and imperfections in drywall or plasterboard.
• Tapping and finishing: Applying tape to seams and joints to reinforce them and prevent cracking.
• Sanding and smoothing: Sanding down dried joint compound to create a smooth, even surface.
• Inspecting and touching up: Inspecting completed work for any imperfections or blemishes and making necessary touch-ups to ensure a perfect finish.

Requirements:

• Valid work visa (if applicable) or the rights to work in New Zealand
• Own tools is highly desirable
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a gib stopper
• Minimum restricted license and your own transportation is a MUST
• High attention to detail and quality control
• Be willing to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
