Location: Rural New Zealand - depot is centrally located in Hamilton.  
Position Type: Temporary (4-6 months)
Start Date: In a couple of weeks
Pay Rate: $27

About our client: Join a reputable family-owned business with a strong safety culture and a commitment to excellent service. We're seeking a dedicated Pilot Vehicle Driver to support our roadside maintenance vegetation crews.

Role Responsibilities:

• Pilot Vehicle Operation: Drive a pilot vehicle to guide tractors and support roadside maintenance tasks.
• Traffic Management: Assist in traffic management under the supervision of a STMS. Duties include placing/collecting cones, setup, and operating go/stop signs.
• Team Work: Collaborate effectively with various crews, including weed spraying, arborist cleanup, and rubbish collection along New Zealand state highways.
• Flexible Tasks: Be ready to assist with different tasks, such as concrete pouring on the construction crew or other duties as needed.

Key Requirements:

• Driver’s License: Full Class 1 driver's license is essential.
• Physical Fitness: Must be fit, strong, and able to be on your feet all day.
• Safety: Safe driving skills are crucial; you must also be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude is a must. Teamwork is vital for success in this role.
• Experience: Pilot vehicle qualification, First Aid certificate, and chainsaw tickets are preferred. Previous experience in vegetation control or civil engineering is beneficial.

Additional Details:

• Hours: Early morning starts and long days are expected. You may not return to the yard until late.
• Environment: Work will be conducted in all weather conditions and in rural settings.
• Duration: This is a temporary role running from about 4-6 months during the peak season.
