Duties may include:
- Driving a variety of trucks to transport materials to specified destinations.
- Fueling equipment and checks and reports condition to supervisor prior to transporting.
- Ensuring the vehicles COF, Registration, Road User Charges and any other applicable permits are current and displayed.
- Will involve loading or unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck.
- Routinely checks the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened, and fastens chains or stops to secure load on trailer during transit.
- Maintains driver log book to NZTA regulations. Cleans vehicle as required.
- Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned (and transported) equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
