We’re looking for an experienced, detail-driven chef to join the kitchen team at a high-end hotel client in Hastings. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your culinary expertise to a luxury environment where precision, quality, and presentation are paramount.
You’ll be part of a professional, fast-paced kitchen producing premium à la carte dishes to a consistently exceptional standard. If you thrive in a refined hospitality setting, take pride in your craft, and understand the demands of high-end dining, we want to hear from you.
Location: Hastings
Start date: Start date and hours to be confirmed
Pay rate: $28–34 per hour (paid weekly, depending on experience)
Your role will involve:

• Preparing and plating elegant à la carte dishes to exacting standards during busy service
• Working collaboratively with a skilled kitchen team in a high-pressure, premium environment
• Ensuring every plate reflects fine-dining expectations, with a strong focus on presentation and consistency
• Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
• Bringing a sharp eye for detail and professionalism to every shift

We’re looking for someone with:

• At least 3 years’ experience working in high-end à la carte kitchens
• Deep knowledge of modern plating techniques and refined presentation
• A commitment to maintaining excellence under pressure and tight service windows
• Strong communication and team skills in a fast-moving kitchen
• Formal cookery qualifications (e.g. NZQA Level 4) – desirable but not essential
