Asphalter We’re looking for an experienced Asphalter to join a hard-working civil crew delivering roading and surface work across Christchurch. If you know your way around a rake and roller—or have a background in civil construction and want to get into asphalt—this could be the role for you.

Location: Varied sites across Christchurch (based from Woolston)
Start date: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $28–34 per hour, experience based (paid weekly)

Your role will involve:

• Preparing sites by shovelling, raking, sweeping, and compacting base layers
• Laying and spreading asphalt by hand or with paving machinery
• Operating rollers, compactors, and other equipment to finish surfaces
• Assisting with sealing, patching, and hot mix work
• Following site safety procedures and working as part of a crew

To be successful, you’ll need:

• Previous asphalt, civil, or concreting experience (preferred)
• Confidence operating rollers and compacting equipment
• Physical fitness and ability to handle manual labour
• Strong reliability and punctuality
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 or WTR tickets a bonus)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
