Tradestaff have Arborist roles available across Hawkes Bay.
 
We are looking for Arborists with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):
 

• Tree inspections and assessment - Examining individual trees to assess their overall health, stability, pest or disease issues and condition.
• Identifying potential risks associated with limbs or trees falling and determining treatment options.
• Advising on species selection, site planning and overall tree management and care
• Climbing trees using ropes and harnesses and elevated working platforms to reach limbs and branches.
• Maintaining and caring for trees and shrubs by pruning limbs, trimming shrubs and shaping branches using chain and handsaws to promote healthy growth, improve aesthetics and remove dead or hazardous branches.
• Safely removing dead and decaying trees, planting and transplanting trees, and grinding out tree stumps.
• Operating and maintaining various equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders to perform tree care tasks safely and efficiently.
• Treating trees with insecticides and fertilisers to assist with pest and disease management.
• Clearing trees from overhead electricity and telecommunications lines.

 
Ideally, you will be or have:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience
• Trade qualifications/certificate in arboriculture or related industry preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
• Own reliable transport
• First-aid certificate beneficial but not essential
• Class 2, 4 or 5 license preferred but not essential
• At least 2 work references
• 100% commitment to Health & Safety
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Minimum pay range $30-$40 depending on experience
