Tradestaff Wellington is seeking an experienced Certified Water Installer to join a leading civil construction contractor delivering critical water infrastructure projects across Wellington.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled installer, leading hand, or emerging foreperson looking to take ownership of site activities while contributing to projects that support Wellington’s growing communities.

About the RoleYou’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects, working alongside site supervisors and project teams to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
This role offers a blend of hands-on installation work, technical expertise, and team leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Installing potable water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure
• Ensuring work is completed to Wellington Council and relevant New Zealand standards
• Leading small crews and coordinating subcontractors on site
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Supporting daily planning and site coordination activities
• Ordering materials and coordinating plant requirements
• Completing QA documentation, daily records, and as-built information
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and workmanship
• Providing technical guidance and expertise on water infrastructure installations

What We’re Looking For
Essential

• Certified Water Installer qualification or equivalent recognized industry certification
• Proven experience within heavy civil water infrastructure construction
• Experience leading crews or operating at Leading Hand or Foreperson level
• Strong knowledge of water, wastewater, and stormwater installation standards
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and QA requirements
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence
• Strong commitment to health and safety

Highly Regarded

• WTR endorsements
• Class 2 Licence or higher
• Experience operating small civil construction plant and equipment
• Experience working on Wellington Council infrastructure projects
