STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) Tradestaff is seeking experienced Site Traffic Management Supervisors (STMS) to join our growing team in the Auckland region. While Auckland will be your predominate area of work you may be required to work in Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions, this will be discussed with the successful applicant. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work with a variety of civil infrastructure, road maintenance, and construction projects.

As an STMS, you will supervise traffic management operations and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic around roadworks, construction sites, and infrastructure projects while maintaining compliance with all New Zealand traffic management standards and health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Traffic Controllers and traffic management operations on site.
• Implement and oversee approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
• Ensure all temporary traffic management activities comply with NZTA requirements, legislation, and industry standards.
• Set up, maintain and remove temporary traffic management equipment including signs, cones, barriers and other traffic control devices.
• Direct vehicles and pedestrians safely through work sites using approved traffic management techniques.
• Monitor site conditions and adjust traffic management arrangements where required.
• Conduct site safety checks and ensure the safety of workers, road users and the public.
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, contractors, workers and the public.
• Complete required documentation, inspections and reporting.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment where appropriately licensed.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

Skills and Experience Required Applicants must meet ONE of the following:

• Hold a New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) Level 4 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field; OR
• Have at least three years of relevant traffic management experience, which may substitute for the formal qualification.

In addition, applicants must have:

• A current NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) practising STMS warrant (or be eligible to obtain one).
• Sound knowledge of Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) requirements and Traffic Management Plans.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to supervise staff and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Two recent work references.
• A Class 2 or Class 4 Driver Licence is advantageous but not essential unless required for specific projects.

• Competitive hourly rate of $28.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
