Tradestaff is seeking experienced Pipe Welder/Fitters to join a major geothermal energy project in Taupō.
This is an opportunity to work on nationally significant energy infrastructure that will help power New Zealand for generations to come.
You'll be part of a skilled team delivering critical piping systems and mechanical installations on one of the country's most important renewable energy developments.

About the Project
Located in the heart of New Zealand's geothermal region, this large-scale renewable energy development represents a significant investment in New Zealand's energy future.
Working on complex industrial systems, you'll play a key role in the installation, fit-up, welding, and assembly of piping infrastructure supporting geothermal power generation and sustainable energy production.

The Role
Working within a professional and safety-focused project team, your responsibilities may include:
  • Pipe fabrication, fit-up, and installation
  • Reading and interpreting isometric and engineering drawings
  • Welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipework
  • Flange management, alignment, and bolted connections
  • Installation of pipe supports and associated equipment
  • Pressure testing and commissioning support
  • Working alongside mechanical, rigging, and commissioning teams
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship

We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Pipe Welder/Fitter
  • Strong pipe fitting and welding capability
  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and specifications
  • Experience working on industrial, energy, infrastructure, geothermal, process plant, or heavy engineering projects
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Whats Required
  • Current Site Safe Passport
  • Working at Heights Certification
  • EWP Ticket
  • Confined Space Certification
  • Experience on power generation or geothermal projects (Advantageous but Not Essential)
  • Relevant welding qualifications or certifications
