Trade Qualified Painter
We’re looking for experienced painters to join a well-established company working across Dunedin. Ideally, you’ll be trade qualified, but we’re also keen to hear from experienced brush hands who can turn up, get stuck in, and deliver a quality finish without needing to be micromanaged.
Location: Dunedin Central, Dunedin
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: $28–$35 per hour depending on experience – paid weekly

Pay rate: $28–$35 per hour depending on experience – paid weekly
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing interior and exterior surfaces through sanding, scraping, filling, sealing and priming
- Applying undercoats and finishing coats using brushes, rollers and spray equipment
- Mixing and matching colours and applying a range of coatings and finishes
- Masking and protecting surrounding areas to maintain a clean, professional finish
- Working safely at height using ladders and scaffolding where required
- Cleaning and maintaining painting tools and equipment
- Working independently and as part of the team while following site health and safety requirements
- Trade qualification in painting strongly preferred, or solid industry experience as a painter
- Proven ability to work independently and complete work to a high standard without constant supervision
- Full NZ driver licence
- Strong attention to detail and a reliable work ethic
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Two recent work references
- Site Safe is beneficial, but we can arrange this if you don’t already have it
- Competitive $28–$35 hourly rate based on experience
