About the Role

As a Senior Jumbo Operator, you will play a critical role in underground development activities while supporting safe, productive and efficient mining operations.
Working closely with Supervisors, Technical Services and underground crews, you will contribute to the ongoing success of the operation while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate jumbo drilling equipment in underground development environments

• Install ground support in accordance with site plans and ground control requirements

• Drill development headings to required specifications and profiles

• Support underground services installation and development activities

• Lead by example in maintaining safe work practices underground

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members and cross-shift teams

• Complete operational reporting and documentation requirements

• Participate in safety inspections, hazard management and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental procedures

• Contribute to a positive, productive and safety-focused team culture

About You - To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating jumbo equipment within underground mining environments

• Experience within development and production mining operations

• Proven experience in tunnelling, metalliferous or underground mining environments

• Jumbo Operator certification

• Current First Aid Certificate

• Full Manual Driver Licence

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Class 2 and/or Class 4 Licence

• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement

• Previous leadership or mentoring experience

• Experience working within high-performing underground development teams
