We’re looking for an experienced Fitter/Welder to join a busy Hastings workshop manufacturing and assembling tilt trays, truck decks and other truck body equipment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid engineering skills who enjoys hands-on fabrication, fitting and mechanical work.
Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay
Start date: Immediate
Pay rate: $35–$40 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing
- Fitting and assembling tilt trays, truck decks and other truck body equipment
- Measuring, cutting, drilling, welding and fitting steel and aluminium components
- Installing hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Using engineering hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Carrying out repairs and modifications as required
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Proven experience as a Fitter/Welder
- Experience with transport decks or tilt trays would be beneficial
- Competent using engineering hand and power tools
- Good understanding of hydraulic systems
- Basic electrical and wiring knowledge
- Basic welding skills
- Forklift licence and/or Class 2 licence would be beneficial but are not required
- Work in a modern, well-equipped workshop built for efficient daily production
- Enjoy steady production work building tilt trays, truck decks and equipment
- Join a busy workshop with a strong pipeline of truck body production work
- Work with quality equipment in a tidy, organised and modern workshop space
- Get hands-on with varied production builds across truck decks and tilt trays
