About the Role
Tradestaff has multiple opportunities for experienced Fitters/Turners across the Wellington —your main base of work.
You may be required to work in Bay of Plenty, Auckland, Waikato and Hawkes Bay giving you variety and exposure to different projects. (All expectations will be discussed with you upfront with successful applicant.)
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be involved in a wide range of engineering and mechanical tasks, including:
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Assembling and fitting fabricated metal parts and machinery
- Measuring and checking components for accuracy and fit
- Setting up machining tools, guides, and controls
- Operating equipment to cut, shape, and form metal to fine tolerances
- Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out maintenance and repairs
- Installing and commissioning machinery on-site where required
What We’re Looking For
We want reliable, skilled tradespeople who take pride in their work. Ideally, you’ll have:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Fitter/Turner
- A relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Your own tools and reliable transport
- At least 2 solid work references
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
