Mechanical Engineer

Tradestaff is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to join a large industrial processing facility in Dargaville. We have multiple opportunities available for qualified maintenance professionals looking for hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment. Offering competitive rates of up to $50 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established operation while gaining valuable industry experience.

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance) Level 4 qualification or equivalent
• Experience carrying out maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on industrial machinery and equipment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work in a production environment

Shift Maintenance Position
Roster: 4 Days On, 4 Days Off

• Two 12-hour day shifts (7:00am – 7:00pm)
• Followed by two 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day repairs and maintenance of site equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults
• Supporting plant reliability and operational performance
• Working alongside the maintenance team to minimise downtime

• 3-month placement following successful sign-off

Weekend / Day Shift PositionRoster: Thursday – Sunday
Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm

• Preventative maintenance tasks
• Equipment inspections and servicing
• Repairs and continuous improvement projects
• Maintaining equipment reliability and site performance
